A new method of smuggling liquor has come to light from Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam, where smugglers were found using trains to transport illegal alcohol.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Ratlam railway station seized 72 sealed bottles of premium English liquor from a DEMU train. The total value of the seized alcohol was ₹73,800.
As soon as the police tried to surround the suspects, all three accused took advantage of the crowd and escaped from the scene. However, the police managed to seize both scooters and the bags, which contained 72 sealed liquor bottles of different brands – totaling 54 liters.
