Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on counterfeit cosmetic products, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone, busted an illegal manufacturing unit producing duplicate Karachi Mehendi cones in Hyderabad and seized fake products and machinery worth ₹8 lakh. Two persons involved in the racket were apprehended during simultaneous raids in Balapur and Afzalgunj.

The operation was carried out on January 13, 2026, in coordination with Balapur Police Station and Afzalgunj Police Station. During the raids, police caught the accused red-handed while manufacturing and supplying duplicate Karachi Mehendi cones to markets in Hyderabad and other cities.

Officials said the accused were cheating customers by selling counterfeit mehendi products in the name of a popular brand.
