Pune Police have filed cases against six shopkeepers in the Budhwar Peth area for allegedly selling fake mobile accessories labeled as Apple products. Counterfeit items worth Rs. 10.39 lakh were confiscated during coordinated raids conducted on Friday.
The action was initiated in the Tapkir Galli area after a complaint from an authorized representative of Apple Inc., according to police.
The complaint was made at Faraskhana Police Station by Vijay Yashwant Sagelkar (50), a Mumbai- based authorized representative trained by Apple to spot counterfeit products.
Police stated that Sagelkar collaborates closely with the company to identify the production, storage, and sale of fake Apple accessories that closely mimic genuine products.
