Indore: An attempt to pass off a fake Rs 200 note at a restaurant in Gandhi Nagar led police to bust a counterfeit currency racket and arrest its alleged mastermind, a repeat offender who resumed printing fake notes after securing bail in an earlier case.
DCP Narendra Rawat said that the counterfeit currency with a face value of around Rs 44,000 was seized along with a printing machine.
The breakthrough came when Yashwant Yadav, owner of Sawariya restaurant in Raj Nagar, became suspicious after a customer tried to pay for tea and snacks with a Rs 200 note. Sensing that the note was fake, he, along with employee Ashish Chauhan, detained the customer and informed the police.
