Jaipur: A special team of Jaipur Rural Police, Friday, busted a major fake Indian currency note racket and seized counterfeit notes worth over Rs 1 lakh from a 21-year-old B.Ed student who allegedly picked up the idea of printing fake notes from online videos. The accused was identified as Sachin Yadav, a resident of Shahpura in Jaipur Rural and a student at a private college in Amarsar.
According to police, special information was received regarding a major FICN racket operating in the rural areas of the city, prompting authorities to follow up on leads.Yadav was reportedly supplying counterfeit notes in place of genuine currency, making a fivefold profit in the process. During the operation, police seized the equipment used for printing the fake currency, as well as a motorcycle from his possession.
SHO Amarsar Arun Singh, said, the breakthrough came when police received a tip-off, Thursday, about a suspicious youth transporting counterfeit currency. A checkpoint was set up on Radhawas Road, where Yadav was stopped. Upon searching him, officers found 390 Rs 100 notes and 330 Rs 200 notes.
