Patna, Jun 15 (PTI) The Bihar Police on Monday said liquor seizures in the dry state rose by 11 per cent in the first five months of 2026, with more than 17.5 lakh litres of alcohol worth nearly Rs 141 crore seized during the period.

According to a statement issued by the Police Headquarters, a total of 56,904 persons were apprehended between January and May this year in connection with the liquor seizures.

An average of 3,50,677 litres of liquor were seized per month between January and May this year, compared to 3,14,610 litres per month during the corresponding period in 2025, it said.
