Capacity Building Programme for Police Officers on Prevention of Counterfeiting and Smuggling

Illicit trade is no longer confined to the shadows, it has become a sophisticated and global challenge that impacts communities at every level. The circulation of counterfeit goods, smuggled products, and unregulated commodities distorts legitimate markets, compromises public health and safety, and undermines the stability of economic systems. In a strategically located and economically vibrant state such as Goa, illicit trade has grown into a complex issue with implications that extend well beyond hidden or informal markets.

Addressing this complex challenge places law-enforcement agencies at the centre of the response. Police forces play a pivotal role in identifying, disrupting, and dismantling illegal supply chains. Their effectiveness depends on continuous capacity enhancement, access to updated intelligence, and exposure to modern investigative tools and techniques.

FICCI CASCADE Digital Art Competition-Stand Against Smuggling

Smuggling continues to be a pervasive challenge that transcends national boundaries, impacting countries and regions worldwide. To address this critical issue and reaffirm its commitment to raising awareness, FICCI CASCADE observes 11th February as Anti-Smuggling Day. The observance aims to bring together all stakeholders to collectively understand the magnitude of the problem and explore avenues for stronger cooperation and coordinated action.

As a run-up to Anti-Smuggling Day, and to spread awareness on the menace of smuggled goods, FICCI CASCADE is organizing a Digital Art Competition on the theme “Stand Against Smuggling”. The competition seeks to generate wider public awareness on the issue of smuggling, encourage individuals to reject illicit products, and promote creative expression to inspire positive societal change
