Rs 7 Lakh Worth Of Fake Currency Notes Recovered In Guwahati
GUWAHATI: Police on Tuesday, April 19, recovered fake Indian currency with a face value of Rs 7 lakh from the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Guwahati. One person has been arrested in this connection.
The arrested person has been identified as Kinder M Sangma, a resident of South Garo Hills in Meghalaya.
“A WGPD team from Gorchuk PS arrested one Kinder M Sangma of South Garo Hills, Meghalaya with FICN worth ₹7 lakhs at ISBT today. Further investigation is on and legal action has been initiated,” the Guwahati Police announced on Twitter.
The accused was reportedly in the process of leaving Guwahati in a bus for Tura in Meghalaya when he was arrested. Police recovered the Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth Rs 7 lakh during a search of his belongings.
