Illicit trade is no longer confined to the shadows, it has become a sophisticated and global challenge that impacts communities at every level. From counterfeit goods and smuggled products to unregulated markets, these activities erode fair competition, put citizens’ health and safety at risk, and create deep vulnerabilities in the economic system. For a rapidly developing hub like Haryana, such threats not only endanger local businesses and consumers but also weaken trust in lawful trade and governance.
In confronting this growing menace, the role of law enforcement stands paramount. Police forces serve as the first line of defence responsible for detecting, intercepting, and dismantling illicit networks. To succeed, they require not only vigilance but also access to knowledge, advanced tools, and ongoing training.
Recognising this imperative, FICCI CASCADE continues to work closely with enforcement bodies across the country. In line with this mission, FICCI CASCADE is organising a capacity-building programme titled “Enforcement Against Illicit Economies: Strengthening the Role of Police in Preventing Transnational Crime” on 24th September 2025 at the Commissioner of Police Office, Gurugram. The workshop is designed to provide police officers with practical understanding of illicit trade operations and equip them with actionable strategies to counter these crimes more effectively.
This initiative reflects a collective commitment to building a safer and more transparent marketplace. By enhancing the skills and preparedness of the Haryana Police, we aim to strengthen the enforcement ecosystem and ensure greater resilience against the complex threats posed by illicit trade.
