The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh administration’s Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) department has carried out a major anti-counterfeit medicine operation in Agra, with authorities sealing eight illegal warehouses and registering six FIRs while unearthing an interstate network of miscreants.
Investigators conducted searches spanning more than 20 drug firms and 12 warehouses, uncovering illegal sales of physician samples, government medicines and expired drugs worth more than Rs 3.6 crore in Agra.
The raids marking the state’s largest anti-counterfeit drug operation – led to the confiscation of fake and expired drugs, including those meant for use as physician samples and government supplies.
