The Malkajgiri SOT and food safety officials seized nearly 300 kg of suspected fake paneer from two auto-rickshaws at Keesara and arrested two men. The consignment, allegedly meant for hotels and restaurants, has been sent for laboratory testing as investigations continue.

Officials suspect the paneer was prepared using substandard ingredients and could pose serious health risks if consumed. It was being transported from Yadadri-Bhongir district into the city.

The seized stock has been handed over for laboratory testing.

Authorities are also probing the source of the consignment and trying to identify others involved in the supply network.
