FICCI CASCADE organised a Youth Programme in association with Bachchon Ka Maati-IV on 9th August 2026 at The Millennium School, Noida, aimed at engaging young minds in understanding the growing challenges posed by counterfeiting and smuggling and their impact on the Indian economy.
The programme featured Speech, Essay Writing and Painting Competitions for students of Classes VI to VIII. The Painting Competition was organised on the theme “Beware of Illicit Products – Say No to Counterfeiting and Smuggling”, while the themes for the Speech and Essay Writing Competitions were “Counterfeiting and Smuggling – Daunting Impact on the Indian Economy.”
The objective of the programme was to create awareness among young students about the economic and social consequences of illicit trade and to encourage them to become responsible and informed consumers. Through creative and thought-provoking activities, the programme sought to help students understand how counterfeit and smuggled products undermine legitimate businesses, cause revenue losses, threaten consumer safety and adversely impact the country’s economic growth. The initiative also encouraged students to raise their voices and creativity to spread awareness and contribute to the fight against illicit trade.
The programme witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 1000 students from schools across Delhi/NCR participating with great enthusiasm. The active participation of students reflected their keen interest in understanding the issue and their willingness to contribute towards building a more aware and responsible society.
The initiative reaffirmed FICCI CASCADE’s commitment to youth engagement and consumer awareness, recognising that educating young citizens is an important step towards creating a generation that understands the risks of illicit trade and makes informed choices.
